RPC & general connection issues
If you are experiencing wallet connection issues or any sort of connection issues on the Yowie app, such as loading farms, try changing your RPC.
How to change your RPC
- Visit https://chainlist.org
- Select a functioning RPC; you can add it to your wallet directly from the browser or
- MetaMask → Settings → Networks → Change the RPC URL to the one you’ve selected from Chainlist.
Issues removing LP
- Try raising slippage and/or removing as wMON.
- Try cleaning cookies for Yowie Finance and performing a hard refresh (Shift+F5).
How to manually add a token on Yowie Finance
- In case the token you want to swap is not on our list, you can add it on the swap tab.
- Go to the swap tab, and click “select token” to open the token selection modal.
- Enter the token address, and the token should appear below.
- Click “+Add” and then click “I understand”.
How to resolve pending transactions
Reset MetaMask
- Settings → Advanced → Reset. (Resetting MetaMask will only clear pending transactions.)
- After reset, re-do your transaction, and check the gas price here: MonVision Gas Tracker.
- Edit priority and max fee the same as MonVision shows (put the same number on priority and max fee).
If hitting “cancel” in the Activities tab isn’t working, you can try the option below. It overwrites the previous one with another buy using the same nonce (like a file name):
- In MetaMask, click the circle icon (top right) → Settings → Advanced.
- Turn ON both Advanced gas control and Customize transaction nonce.
- Back in the main interface, find your target pending transaction in Activities. Note the Nonce number.
- Make a new transaction to replace it, but this time with an increased gas price.
- On the confirmation step, set the Nonce to the number you noted in step 3, then Confirm.
- Your new transaction should queue in Activities.
Swap FAQ
How do I switch the direction of the swap?
Click the arrow between the “From” token and the “To” token.
I don’t see the tokens I want in the token list. What do I do?
Add new tokens by searching for their address, then add them to the list.
What is the swap fee?
A small percentage of your transaction is taken and given to liquidity providers as a reward for providing liquidity.
Staking YOW FAQ
What do I receive when I stake YOW in the xYOW pool?
You receive xYOW, which represents your share of the pool. The number of your xYOW tokens won’t go up; however, the value of each xYOW increases over time because trading fees are used to buy back YOW that is then sent to the pool.
You can also stake xYOW to earn tokens from other protocols on the Stake YOW page.
The xYOW:YOW ratio hasn’t changed since I checked—what’s going on?
The UI updates the xYOW ratio once a day at random times to discourage coordinated sales. Keep in mind the xYOW:YOW ratio is global—it does not reflect personal purchases.
What can I do with xYOW? Does it work with other protocols?
You can trade, vote with, make LP, stake, and use xYOW much like YOW. xYOW works on other protocols as well. There won’t be an official trading pool, but anyone can create one. However, xYOW is required to unstake YOW, so keep it unless you know what you’re doing.
When your xYOW is staked in pools, it still earns APR from the Buyback YOW pool.
What does the APR for the xYOW pool depend on?
Because xYOW value accrues via trade fees, APR largely depends on trading volume. The displayed APR is an average over the last 7 days.
What if I lose my xYOW?
xYOW is required to redeem your YOW. Don’t lose it.
Liquidity FAQs
Do I get “liquidated” if the price goes outside of my range?
No.
When your position leaves your price range, it becomes inactive and stops earning fees until the price returns to your range. The token ratio of your position will change as price moves.
Here is an example of how a position changes:
A liquidity provider has a price range of 1,000 to 5,000 for an ETH/USDC pool.
- If ETH falls to 900, your balance becomes 100% ETH.
- If ETH rises to 6,000, your balance becomes 100% USDC.
How do I change the price range of a liquidity position?
Remove the position, then create a new one with the desired range. When you remove liquidity, all earned fees are collected to your wallet.
What is a tick when providing liquidity?
Ticks define specific price steps. A tick is the smallest unit where liquidity can be placed.
- Basis points (bps/bips) are 0.01% (0.0001).
- Each fee tier has its own tick spacing.
- Pool fee value is the Solidity integer used by the contract (fee % × 10,000).
You can also use (1 / Pool fee value) to get the percentage.
| Tick-spacing | multiplier | Fee tier % | multiplier | Pool fee value | Fee (bps) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100 * | 0.01 | * 10000 | 100 | 1 |
| 10 | 200 * | 0.05 | * 10000 | 500 | 5 |
| 60 | 200 * | 0.3 | * 10000 | 3000 | 30 |
| 200 | 200 * | 1 | * 10000 | 10000 | 100 |
Note: Solidity does not support percentages or decimals.
Yowie Finance pools have a tick range from -887272 to 887272. Upper/lower ticks for a position must be evenly divisible by the tick spacing.
What is single-sided liquidity?
A position that holds only one of the two tokens in a pool.
Available on Yowie Finance. If your chosen range is outside the current price range, you’ll only supply one token.
Can I provide liquidity over the full price range?
Yes, but returns may be lower than a narrower range.
What are fee tiers?
A fee tier is the percentage fee swaps pay.
When providing liquidity, you earn your share of collected fees.
On Yowie Finance:
- Fee tiers: 1%, 0.3%, 0.05%, 0.01%.
- Fees accrue and are collectable (not auto-compounded).
- When you remove a position, accrued fees are withdrawn with your liquidity.
Common Scams
Impersonation scams
Scammers pose as customer/IT support. To protect yourself:
- Never allow remote access to your device.
- Never share recovery phrase, private keys, or passwords.
- Yowie Finance only provides support via official socials (see Contact us).
- We’ll never ask you to send funds or install random software.
Investment scams
Beware fake “high return” opportunities. Yowie Finance does not offer accounts, pledges, “mining contracts,” or unsolicited DMs to invest.
Giveaway promotion scams
Scammers claim you’ve “won” or promote fake airdrops. They’ll send a link and ask you to send tokens or approve a contract. Don’t.
To stay safe:
- Verify the account and ask in our Discord if unsure.
- Confirm with official channels that any airdrop/giveaway is real.
- Only accept messages from people you trust.
Unsellable token scams
Some tokens prevent holders from selling—so-called HoneyPots.
Scammers trick users into buying, then use the token’s contract to block sells, later pulling liquidity (rug). Methods include:
- Blacklist / Whitelist functions
- Anti-whale limits
- Cooldown periods
- Suspend trading toggles
- High sell tax (>~10%; >50% often untradeable)
- Modifiable tax (owner can raise to >49%)
- Change balance powers
- Proxy contracts (upgradable logic)
- Hidden owner
Other Yowie fixes and questions
How do we check bridge liquidity?
Bridge uses burn/mint for tokens other than MON. MON itself has liquidity. Bridging is free for the Monad Chain.
Can you no longer connect MetaMask to Ledger?
Enable Ledger Live in MetaMask: Settings → Advanced → Ledger Live (ON). Open Ledger Live, connect device, then in MetaMask click connect hardware wallet.
More Ledger issues?
Update firmware and Ethereum app. Use Wrap MON to wMON, ensure smart contracts are enabled. As a last resort, enable debug mode.
If I want to swap massive ETH to MON with less slippage?
Buy ~30% of ETH into MON on mainnet using an aggregator (e.g., matcha.xyz), bridge ETH + MON to Monad via Yowie Finance, then buy remaining MON on Yowie.
Is Yowie Finance protected from flash-loan attacks?
YOW ownership can’t be transferred outside of the MasterChef; the token isn’t vulnerable to such attacks.
Why is my transaction failing?
Check https://testnet.monadexplorer.com/.
If you see “burn amount exceeds balance”, you’re likely staking the YOW you’re trying to move.
Other messages may be Fantom Opera issues.
How do I get airdrops?
Official airdrops are announced on Twitter, Discord, and Telegram.
What is the maximum supply of YOW?
13,666,000.
Where can I check analytics?
https://v3.info.yowie.fi
What is a sandwich attack?
A sandwich attack is when an attacker places their swaps before and after yours to profit from price movement.
How it works:
- Your swap is pending.
- Attacker front-runs with a buy.
- Your swap executes at a worse price.
- Attacker back-runs by selling higher.
Mitigations:
- Prefer large liquidity pools.
- Use swap protection / MEV blockers if your wallet provides them.
CAN’T DO ANYTHING?
Make sure your OS time is set to automatic, not manual (yes, really).
